Course Overview:
Discover the intricacies of garment construction as you learn body measuring techniques and gain proficiency in sewing standard-sized garments with the use of template blocks.
- Introduction to Garment Elements (Zippers, Buttons, Pleats, Darts, and Pockets)
- Body Measuring
- A-Line Skirt with Elastic Waist
- Circular Skirt with Zipper Closure
- Collared Shirt Construction
- Trouser Construction
- Techniques and Troubleshooting
- Introduction to Flat Pattern Making
Pre-Requisites
Students should have basic sewing skills, making it the perfect progression for those who have completed our Beginner sewing course.
Length/ Schedule: 8 weeks Instructor-led virtual OR In-person classes.
(Sundays OR Weekdays – 8 three-hour classes, once a week)
Learning Method
Ten Instructor-led practical classes. Choose between in-person or virtual sessions.
Supplies
Students are required to have a sewing machine, needles, fabric and thread to complete assignments at home in-between weekly classes. Classroom supplies available for in-class use.
Enrollment Terms:
Fees include Tuition and free Virtual Seat assignment. Digital Certificate will be issued upon completion of all lessons, assessments, and upon final payment (where applicable). Non-refundable once paid. This program does not require approval under the Ontario Career Colleges Act, 2005.
